PROJECTS UNDER CONSIDERATION

Gus Wortham Park Golf Course – Houston, Texas

Constructed in 1908, it is the oldest 18 hole golf course in Texas. Harry Vardon, Ted Ray and Francis Ouimet played there in its heyday.

Cobb’s Creek at Cobb’s Creek Golf Club – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Constructed in 1917 by architect Hugh Wilson, who is also responsible for designing Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, site of the 2013 U.S. Open.

 Balboa Park Municipal Golf Course – San Diego, California

Constructed in 1921 by architect William Parc “Billy” Bell, one of his many classical designs. One of four municipal golf courses in San Diego, another being Torrey Pines, the site of the 2008 U.S. Open.

Eastmoreland Golf Course – Portland, Oregon

Constructed in 1921 by H. Chandler Egan, who is also responsible for the 1928 redesign of Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Wilson at Griffith Park Golf Course – Los Angeles, California

Constructed in 1923 by George C. Thomas, who is also responsible for designing Riviera Country Club and Los Angeles Country Club (North).

Sharp Park Golf Course – Pacifica, California

Constructed in 1931 by Alister Mackenzie, who is also responsible for designing Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach, California and Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. There are less than five public courses remaining in the United States that were designed by this architectural icon.
